When "viewing" finally becomes "booking"
The S290 is designed for practices and screening setups that want to do more than just view live images: it delivers high-resolution photos and videos, supports structured patient management and makes findings measurable through image analysis. At the same time, it remains pleasantly "simple" in everyday use – with sophisticated automatic functions that make recording reliable and fast.
The highlights that feature in sales talks
1) Integrated video documentation – without bulky superstructures
The camera module is integrated directly into the slit lamp, saving space in the examination room. In addition, there are automatic camera functions such as exposure, gain and white balance, as well as a wide dynamic range, ensuring that images are stable even in challenging situations.
2) Visibly better with fluorescein – thanks to integrated yellow filter
The built-in yellow filter increases the contrast in sodium fluorescein staining – ideal for a convincing staining image during patient consultations (and for comprehensible progress checks).
3) Dry eye diagnostics with Meibomian gland view
With the infrared light source module, the S290 supports the observation of the Meibomian glands – a strong argument for modern dry eye consultation and therapy compliance.
4) Optics for details: HD system and practical LED lighting
The HD optical system is designed for detailed imaging (advertised with up to 200 lp/mm, among other things). The LED illumination is designed to resemble the "halogen look" in terms of handling, while offering a longer service life and lower power consumption.

Who is the S290 particularly interesting for?
-
Practices/opticians that use image and video documentation as a quality feature
-
Teams that integrate dry eye more strongly into consultation and service packages (Meibomian glands/fluorescein)
-
Contact lens specialisation (including ortho-k fitting in the software)
-
Locations that want standardisation: more consistent recordings thanks to auto camera settings
