Everything at a glance: opti 2020

The coming optical year begins on 10 January 2020. On this day, opti, the international trade fair for optics & design, starts at Fairground Munich, where over 600 exhibitors will present themselves and their innovations. We have summarised the most important tips here, so that trade visitors have an overview on everything to be able to prepare perfectly.

Which exhibitors are presenting where at opti 2020? On which topics can I refresh my specialist knowledge? Where can I still get tickets, and what is the best way to get to opti 2020 in Munich? You can find the answers to all these questions here:

All the exhibitors can be found in the digital catalogue

At www.opti.de/marktplatz –- the new digital exhibitor catalogue – trade visitors can find all the companies represented at opti 2020. The trade fair offer can be filtered according to companies, brands, product ranges, and products. Company websites and their stand numbers at opti can also be found there. This allows visitors to plan their individual route through the trade fair in advance, make contacts, and arrange appointments.

Six halls for one trade sector

Halls C1 to C3 are dedicated to frame manufacturers, while suppliers of contact lenses, IT, refraction, and diagnostics as well as low vision are represented in Hall C6. Glass and machine manufacturers show their wares in Hall 5. In Hall C4, the focus is on the stationary optometrist practice business – everything revolves around shop construction and shop design, workshop equipment / fittings, merchandise such as eyeglass straps, chains and cases, care and cleaning products, showcases and displays as well as everything related to marketing and office equipment. The entire area of knowledge transfer, such as the opti FORUM, the opti SHOWCASE, and the opti CAMPUS, where optical educational institutions are presented, can also be found in Hall C4.

Three days' full programme

Be it information about the lectures in the opti FORUM or the virtual reality experience on the subject of corporate positioning in the opti SHOWCASE: visitors can find the full opti 2020 event programme on the website. At opti FORUM alone, guests will experience over 950 minutes of lectures on three days, panel discussions, and roundtables in which they learn interesting facts about optics from experts. All lectures at the opti FORUM will have simultaneous translation into German or English. Some of them will be available for download after the trade fair. The programme can be found at www.opti.de/programm.

The way to opti 2020

By plane, bus, train, or car: for specialist visitors in the optical field, all roads lead to Munich this January. Information on arrival, accommodation, parking and special conditions from various opti partners can be found at www.opti.de/anreise; for example, with the Deutsche Bahn trade fair ticket, which takes you to opti from all German cities for € 54.90, or special Lufthansa conditions and the free baggage drop-off at the Northeast entrance. Visitors can drop off their bags at the exhibition centre already; these will then be brought directly to the correct aircraft. You can also find out about the service times of the free shuttle buses between the airport and the exhibition centre.

A new entrance to opti 2020

Visitors enter the halls via the Northwest and Northeast entrances. The shuttle buses from the "Messestadt West" and "Messestadt Ost" underground stations and the airport shuttles stop at the northeast entrance. This extends to Hall C6 and forms the new entrance to opti 2020.

Tickets available on presale and at the entrance

Tickets for opti 2020 are available at www.opti.de/tickets. Visitors can redeem vouchers there or buy a ticket in advance to save up to € 12, as well as the waiting times at the entrance. The turnstiles can be passed directly with the online ticket. Of course, tickets can still be bought on site at the ticket offices on the exhibition grounds without registration.
