In recent years, opti has established itself as a key central meeting point — for its people, its identity and its sense of community. In 2027, opti takes the next step, expanding this community into a platform that not only reflects the future, but actively shapes it.
The new claim See. Hear. Next. captures this development succinctly.
See. stands for precision, perspectives and the world of vision.
Hear. broadens the focus to include hearing acoustics — underscoring how closely the two fields are converging.
Next. marks the industry’s next stage of development — from technological and aesthetic advances to the next generation of professionals.
Topics such as design trends, smart eyewear, technological innovation and the growing convergence of optics and hearing acoustics illustrate where the market is heading. opti thus becomes the place where these developments can be experienced in tangible terms — with a clear focus on their relevance for individual businesses.
“We want every visitor to make the most of their three days at opti,” says Cathleen Kabashi, Director of opti. “With See. Hear. Next. we provide orientation and create anticipation for what comes next — technologically, in design and, of course, in terms of the people shaping the industry. At the same time, opti sketches, outlines and actively designs the future of our industry — concretely, tangibly and through direct exchange.”
Curated content, new formats and digital offerings are designed to support the community in unlocking topics, contacts and opportunities in a targeted way.
The new campaign will be rolled out step by step over the coming months. Initial insights already point to what will become visible next at opti.
From 29–31 January 2027, Munich will once again become the international meeting point for the industry.

About opti
opti is the international trade show for optics and design, which takes place annually in Munich in January as the industry's kick-off event. The networking event offers trade visitors the complete spectrum of optical products, from spectacle frames, lenses, contact lenses, refraction, diagnostics and low vision to shopfitting and technical equipment. In addition, opti is also the venue for product launches by international market leaders and start-ups alike. The trade show has been organised by GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH since 2008 and was first held in 1998.
