MANTI MANTI puts kids first
Almost every fourth child in Germany wears glasses. Up to 15 more percent would also need one. And yet, children's glasses are still too often an unloved medical product. MANTI MANTI is changing that, putting kids and glasses at the center and creating a colorful brand that young and old love.
Almost every fourth child in Germany wears glasses. And up to another 15 percent don't yet know that glasses would help them see the world differently, concentrate longer and learn more easily. MANTI MANTI starts right there and creates a sustainable eyewear love brand for the necessary but often stigmatized medical product, children's glasses, that makes kids and parents happy.
RETHINKING CHILDREN'S GLASSES WITH LOVE
“With MANTI MANTI we think about the topic of children’s glasses in a different way – the joy of them. The focus is on the product, without compromising on design, function, quality and to make sustainability. Children should feel comfortable with their glasses, be able to do everything with them, and not experience any restrictions or stigmatization. To strengthen them right here, we have created our little mantiverse, where children and parents are invited to take their own new look at the world. Where you can expect great glasses and great packaging – everything should bring joy when buying glasses,” says Susann Hoffmann, one of the two founders.

SUSTAINABILITY ALONG THE VALUE CHAIN
MANTI MANTI launched its first collection on the market in summer 2023. The 6 models, each in 9 colors and 3 sizes, are made from 100 percent castor - a renewable raw material that is super light, flexible and robust and offers children an incredibly comfortable fit and comfort. Produced and assembled in Germany - MANTI MANTI focuses heavily on sustainable resources and local partners with many years of experience and high quality standards when it comes to materials and production. In order to gain deeper insights into the material and to be able to understand and follow the value chain down to the last detail, MANTI MANTI and a team member spent three months in India on the plantations of castor bean farmers - and as a partner of the NGO Solidaridad, is a companion of the Pragati Project for sustainable castor bean cultivation.
FUNCTION AND DESIGN GO HAND IN HAND
The MANTI MANTI children's glasses are a combination of design and function. The glasses have a well-designed nose area in which nose pads in three different sizes can be easily exchanged - this makes it easy to accommodate the different nose bridges and ensure a good fit and high level of comfort. In addition to the flex hinges, which continue to support the flexibility of the material, all MANTI MANTI children's glasses in the 3D collection have a cold-adjustable temple end with soft and color-matching rubber, so that the glasses can be easily adjusted and give children a secure fit.

AMBITIOUS NEWCOMERS IN THE MARKET
Susann Hoffmann came up with the idea to develop children's glasses in an everyday situation. Her son had lost his sunglasses, and the search for an alternative quickly went beyond the actual search query. In the end, she asked herself: “Why are there hardly any cool, child-friendly glasses? Why does sustainability play such a small role? And why is the issue of eye health so invisible - even though almost a quarter of all children already wear glasses - and the trend is increasing?"
It quickly became clear that the new foundation would focus on the topic of children's glasses: And of course, experienced partners were needed - who would support MANTI MANTI in design, construction, and production. With passion, love for the product and the Ziek group, it's about creating a brand and products together that inspire children and make children's glasses their favorite accessory.

CHILDREN'S GLASSES MAY BE A LIFESTYLE PRODUCT
In the adult segment, glasses have long been a lifestyle product, and the selection of
high-quality models and exceptional colors and shapes is constantly growing. This does not seem to apply in the same way to children. Against this background, MANTI MANTI has placed the needs of children at the center of its collection planning: wearable classics, interpreted in a modern way, in colors that children love - without relying on short-term trends.
“We want to make beautiful, functional, sustainable and high-quality glasses. They work and inspire for a long time. And at the same time, we see it as our mission to raise public awareness of the issue of eye health - because visiting an ophthalmologist is not standard, and visiting a pediatrician often involves additional costs. Likewise, children are not doing well enough when it comes to subsidies from health insurance companies. "All of this has to change," says Philippa Koenig, founder. "And the eyewear industry also has to change - because the topic of sustainability currently plays too little of a role across the board. More has to happen here. MANTI MANTI wants to be a pioneer and source of inspiration - Because the responsibility for the next generation and our planet lies with all of us and can only be achieved together.”
