10 years opti with GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH

A small anniversary for GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH: In 2017, the company staged opti for the tenth time. That means 10 years of opti, 10 years of innovation. At the anniversary edition in 2017 the opti biography gained another chapter of "Stars & Trends".

Looking back and to the future

In January 2008 GHM organized opti for the first time. 357 exhibitors presented their work in three halls of 30,000 square meters at the Fairground Munich.

Since then the trade show has been growing continuously: opti now covers more than 40,000 square meters in four halls. In January 2017 557 exhibitors from 35 countries took part an presented their products to 27.500 trade visitors.

By 2019 two new halls will be built on the Fairground Munich - right next to the four already existing opti halls C1 to C4. This brings new opportunities for further developing opti together with the visitors and exhibitors.

The future begins at opti

In fact the number of international visitors at opti has increased from about 3,000 in 2008 to over 7,000 in January 2016. The number of German visitors during this time has increased from about 15,800 to over 19,700.

A whole range of ground-breaking products debuted in the last ten years at opti. Ultimately, all of these show pieces - from the classic and the curious to creative bestsellers - catapulted opti into the top league of the optical market. They helped to build the reputation that opti currently enjoys: the top trade show for optometry at the start of the year.
